RENEE YUN
Owner/ Jewellery Design and Materials Experimentalist
Renee Yun is a Jewellery and 3D Design trained Contemporary Design Experimentalist, who graduated from Loughborough University, UK, with BA(Hons) in 3D Design : New Practice and Diploma in 3D Design (Jewellery Major), including gemological studies and silver smithing. Previously, she worked as a Jewellery Product Designer/Consultant at Caratell Diamonds.
As a young Jewellery Design Experimentalist and Practitioner, she has a strong interest in experimenting and researching on materials, conceptual designing and researching/ creating a platform that allows a connection between living and deceased. With a strong interest in Art Psychotherapy and Social & Environmental Issues. Currently, she is researching on 'AUTISM' (specifically on Asperger Syndrome), which hope to help the Autistic Children in creating a new platform to express themselves through the process of Jewellery making and learning new skills.
She has a strong belief that the process of making, has a therapeutic aid that helps to heal people who are psychologically in need, and contemporary jewellery should be visualised and worn as a piece of art.
Renee's works have been featured in German magazine, Schmuck, newpaper, Juice magazine and 8days magazine. She was one of the winners in Levi's Design a Shoe Competition 2012 , top 10 finalists of Singapore Jewellery Design Award 2010 in Cat. A and C, top 10 finalists of CONVERSE Foot Fetish Fest Competition 2008. Also, she has showcased her works at Viridian Art House, Suntec Convention Centre, Marina Baysands, Orchard Central, Raffles City and more.
